Overview

Delca Electrical is a family-owned electrical contractor based in Ballan, servicing Bacchus Marsh, Ballarat and the wider Moorabool Shire. Residential, commercial and maintenance, power and lighting, switchboards, TV and antennas, CCTV, data, underfloor heating and EV chargers. Evan runs the tools himself, so every job is the same person from the first phone call to the final safety certificate. The brief was a site that looks as sharp as the workmanship, and turns a Google search into a phone call.

The challenge

Delca already had a website. That was the problem.. it existed, and it did nothing. There was no clear call to action anywhere on it. Nothing telling a visitor what to do next, no tap-to-call, no obvious next step. No direct way to get hold of Evan either! No enquiry form, and no number sitting anywhere a person would actually find it in the five seconds they'd give it. It showed none of the work, and none of the services. Nothing to tell you whether this was someone who rewires houses, mounts antennas or installs EV chargers. A visitor couldn't work out what Delca did, see that they did it well, or get in touch which is the entire job of a trade website. For a business winning work on a five-star rating and word of mouth, the site was the weakest thing in the business.

What I built

The branding already existed everywhere except the web. Black and white, a monospace wordmark, nothing decorative. It was on the cards, the socials and down the side of the van. So the site was built to match rather than reinvent: the same near-black and white palette, headings set in a monospace face to carry the wordmark through, and the van itself as the hero image. Someone who's seen the van in Ballan and lands on the site should recognise it instantly.

The result

The site does what it was built to do! It looks like the standard of the work, it matches every other place the brand already lived, and it tells Google exactly who Delca are and where they operate.
